Passenger Train
After years of
successful freight hauling, the Carbon County Railroad of Pennsylvania
has decided to branch out into passenger service. After reviewing the
suggestions from some of our customers and the mission statement of
our model railroad society, we decided to keep the theme of the
railroad the same but to move on to a different type of train. A train
is being constructed and will continue over the next several years to
offer passenger service to the region. The train will be made up of
heavyweight cars that were typically used in passenger service. The
train started with a baggage car in the front of the train, continued
with three coaches and also contain, dining car, Pullman, and finish
with an observation car. The cars all represent the same county
boroughs we have used in the first freight set. All the cars will be
painted the same color scheme, that is green with yellow lettering. We
are planning to pull this train with a steam locomotive. Some of the
cars are already out of stock and are not listed below.
Remember, we are
shipping cars all over the country. Some customers have bought as many
as 15 cars of each type. The cars, and indeed the train have been
given as birthday presents, Christmas or Father's Day gifts or they
make great collectable and conversation pieces. Remember only 500 of
these trains are made and are spread out over the entire country. Some
people who had missed the opportunity to get the first cars but
managed to find out about the collection several cars into the train
are looking to complete their sets. The cars are now in demand and are
considered a collectable.

Jim Thorpe Coach Car
